Was surprised about this opening on 2m via ES today. MUF increased rapidly at the late afternoon. Several italian stations in SSB on 6m. Switched on 2m and see the band opened here with David's signal at 16:39 UT. Then his signal vanished to came back later.

ES into europe with x-point over France, suddenly contacts into NA and MUF went through the roof. Switched to 2m, heard DK0A once. Other contacts from 9H into PA/DL, definitely very rare ES. Without FFT/digital, this would've been impossible to detect.
