Comment:
After strong tropo to EA8 all day and Hepburn suggesting there may be tropo to Azores, I initially thought this was tropo and spotted it incorrectly.

Beam was to EA8 when I saw CT8/W6PQL decoding , calling an EA8 station, I quickly turned the beam and assumed I had been missing a strong tropo duct to Azores.

A quick QSO, with 59+40dB showing on the S-meter.

G7RAU also started a QSO withJim but the signals just collapsed into the noise between periods and nothing else heard.

I tried a tropo QSO with CU3EQ but that confirmed the tropo path was closed.

So, I'm pretty confident this was Es. Particularly after Es all across Russia, EU throughout the day. There was a brief Es opening to Italy from here at about 1800 though no complete QSO's
