Sporadic E

The opening in the afternoon provided good activity from Marocco. Several stations were worked from different locators. It seems that FM is worth checking that QTF.

We noticed some spotting on the DXC after the opening. We understand that it is a kind of confirmation but please take note of the fact that after-spotting will upset warningssystems like LiveMUF or DX-robot. Same do spots as MUF2M etc.

First E-s for me this year. Couldn't enter my shack because had to care about my children. Was carrying my one year old son through the living room on one arm when I heard CN8LI on 144.315 and was even more surprised when he answered my call with only 5 watts and vertical antenna. Many thanks, Said! Sadly my son hasn't learnd to talk, yet. So he only had his first 2m-DX as SWL, hi.

The EA8 QSOs were almost expected until I looked at Hepburn/F5LEN. The tropo from EA8 did not extend to CT1 but was probably strong off the CN coast around IM64. So it might have beed es+tropo or possibly extended chordal es. The EA8s were mostly working french stations around IN98. I also heard EA8AVI but he was under a F6 station that sat on 144.300 for 2 hours....
The FM QSOs were fun but again the QRM, particularly from ON ststions calling me was fierce...

Only 1 worked here - after working the CN8, the opening appeared to have moved away so I left home for a while. Inevitably as soon as I went out, the band opened again in this area ( a very close local worked a number of EA stations). As soon as I came back home the Es opening ended - not my day obviously.

Almost 15 minutes of opening with stable signals and not very strong signals but only from the three stations worked.

Short ES opening. As usual, spotty and border line for my QTH....
Signals fade out in short time, so nothing great.
Anyway still waiting the BIG ONE.
Thanks to all for the contacts

Rushed home after hearing Spanish Band 2 FM during my commute home. Got very strong whilst I was stuck at traffic lights for what seemed like eternity about 1/2 mile from my house. Very fustrating...

I thought I had missed it all on 2m but I worked some stations on 4m but then it opened again on 2m and stronger this time.

Too many stations qrming each other on 144.300....please spread out!

Rollercoaster of emotions today...thats what Sp E does to you but ultimately very happy with CN8, CT1 and EA7 in the log. Thanks guys

Also heard EB7BKY (IM77), CT1EIF (IM68), CT1DTC (IM58) and EA7YY (IM76) on 144.225 in FM !
On 145.612,5, I heard 2-3 EA7 hams in QSO on a local EA7 repeater, amongst them, EA7JAS (IM67NS).
I have spent quite some time on 145.500 and 145.550 calling and listening. Only CT1DQM came back to my CQ's.
In such an opening, 20 years ago (more activity), many more QSO's could have been achieved from here.

Signals were not very strong, apart of a period of about 10 minutes around 18:10 gmt. Hrd: EB7BKY, CT1BYM, EA7SU, and a CT on 145.500 in QSO with G4FUF. Not a trace from CN8KG unfortunately. Perhaps we can donate him an SSB rig (as a pile up in FM is terrible)? :-)

The footprint from today's ES was not in my favourite. Other stations were heard but weak. Spent most of the time looking for CN8KG who showed up in FM on 145.500 from IM64 . It would have been a new # for me. However... I did not succeed before end of opening.
