First opening to UA3 ever were I was close to a radio. Some strong and quite stable signals in the first opening, heard more UA3 stations but could not crack the pile ups in the short time they were heard. At 17:32 I copied LY2LE just 1085km away sounding heavily scattered but beeing really strong, unfortunately no QSO.
Second opening was a bit out of range, only R7AM came up for a minute. Others were heard very faint in the noise, 3 attempts with R7YY were unsuccesful due to QSB.

Tuned a largely "quiet" band hearing only the odd G and PA/DL off the back of their antennas, except for a brief appearance of UA3WM on .300, where the EU pile-ups must have been chaotic at his rx! Very short event to Italy in the morning. The afternoon event was again one where the English coast was on the very edge of the opening. HUGE pile-ups of PA & DL stations were very hard to crack. I heard about another 8 UA3 stations but all S2 - S6 and not enough power to get through

I copied Gigi, IV3GTH very well from time to time (and he heard me too) but propagation was too unstable for a completed QSO. Unfortunately when his signal was strongest and when he was in for more than just seconds, He went back to G4DCV. As he finished his QSO with Paul, predictably he went down in QSB again so no one worked this time. At least I had some compensation by working SM3RPQ in JP74BT on MS this morning. JP74 is rarely available on MS and chances to work that # are very few.

First 2m Sporadic-E opening for me in 3 years (since 2010). It felt like it was starting slowly with poor activity, and lasted for 25 minutes. Signals were quite strong and stable, but hardly any new stations worked. I checked also on FM channels but nothing heard. Like observed earlier, the opening closed with the shortest contact (high MUF area moving too close?).

Unfortunately when his signal was strongest and when he was in for more than just seconds, He went back to G4DCV. As he finished his QSO with Paul, predictably he went down in QSB again so no one worked this time. At least I had some compensation by working SM3RPQ in JP74BT on MS this morning.
