09. July 2008

Es is back after one week. Even 50 Mhz was dead for several days but today suddenly in the early morning an unexpected opening occured from EA/CT to DL/SP and OK and later again from CT to G and F. Very spotty. Later in the afternoon 144 was open again, yet another "CT1HZE privat event" :-). Joe heard several beacons from Italy booming while there was almost zero activity.

After be qrv in MS (FSK441) I was breaked by DL9GS in CW with constant S9 signal - I did recognize its SPORADIC E and went QSY to 144.300 MHz (later to 295) and called until nothing happens anymore... So thanks for all ES-Fun again! 73 de Guy EA5/DL8EBW JM08BR

The opening lasted quite a while( Around 20mins) but activity was pretty poor. At one point I just tuned around listening for beacons and found CS1RLA at 59+....but no stations. Joe was as loud as I've ever heard him, but I think he also found activity pretty low. FM was dead also
