Amazing things happening today. Tropo overseas provided possibilities between the Azores and the coastal regions of Portugal, Spain, France Great Brittain, Ireland, Belgium and Holland! The beacon CU8DUB/B was switched on only last week and reported as far as in JO20WX by PA4EME (3126 km!). Furthest QSO so far between ON4KHG and CU8AO (2986 km!)

Comment:Brilliant tropo, probably once in a lifetime opening! First time ever heard CU on 2m, there's a lot of land before I reach the Atlantic Ocean from my QTH so I didn't think it would ever be possible to reach CU from here. Also I tried listening for CU3EQ in HM68 for quite a while but nothing received. CU8DUB beacon was audiable for hours.

I'm proud and happy to report a (actually 2) QSO on May 16th with CU8AO (HM49KL) on 144MHz via (mostly) sea tropo.
This makes a distance of 2986km and a first ON-CU on that band.
CU8DUB/B up to 549 as from 21:00
In attach, a recording of the CU8DUB/B beacon (144.420) and CU8AO calling CQ.

While looking at the cluster I saw stations from the Azores worked by stations that were located more and more to the west. After 6 hours of monitoring the CU8 beacon finally popped out of the noise and peaked 419 while being 12 dB stronger in Belgium at ON4KHG.
CU8DUB/B has 30 Watts in 4 el Yagi beaming NNE at 700 meters ASL.
