Uganda the pearl of Africa. This time Eltje PA3CEE will join the party again. He was also joining in Kenya (5Z4EME 2009), Mauritius (3B8EME 2010) and the Gambia (C56EME 2011). Don't change a winning team! We will be QRV moonbounce 2 meter as 5X1EME, a special moonbounce permit is requested. If all ok we will have a small 70cm setup with us. From May 25th (Eltjes birthday!) 5X1EME will be active from Uganda on 144 MHz moonbounce. The locator will be KJ60gh, near Kampala on the equator. The plan is to leave May 21st and build up the station before the weekend. It's just the two of us but we know what we are doing. It's a hard job to get the license there. Callsign is still a bit insecure but we have good faith in obtaining 5X1EME. We want to be active at least during two whole weekends when there is good activity in combination with good moon conditions. Last operation presumably June 3rd. Internet possibility is unsure but we try to send at least once a day a update via MoonNet, MMMonVHF and our mailinglist. If internet will be low, we will try (one way) communication through Twitter: http://twitter.com/#!/PA3CEE and http://twitter.com/AtleticoTeamExp in order to inform with short messages. Frequency: We always TX and RX 144.134 MHz We use 1 minute periods and we will TX always first. Setup: 2 x 8 Xpol yagi 400 watt amplifier and a low NF preamp (WA2ODO) Welcome to Uganda moonbounce site! http://www.emelogger.com/uganda This is our fourth DXpedition to Africa. Africa came into our blood. We have to come back as often as possible. We can't resist.... 73 Rene PE1L and Eltje PA3CEE SOUrCE: Rene, PE1L, and Eltje, PA3CEE direct to MMMonVHF USE or SUBSCRIBE: http://mmmonvhf.de/latest.php?id=4108 --- ** DXCC: FG; square: FK96; start 2012-04-12 ** FG4KH (FK96) is annouced to be QRV on 144 MHz in the period between April 12 and April 26 2012.
