A nice short e-s event coupling into the ducts down to EA8. I was first spotted on SSB by EA8BRZ who was so excited by the time, that he had called he went down in QSB. In the meantime the rest were calling in both periods on 144.174MHz and getting nowhere........

Nice - 5 stations worked and 5 new locators - Can't be beaten. Probably the last 2m Es opening this year and a good one to end with - nothing copied for ages but then the Es came - went again but came back. I believe I wasnt best placed for this one but I shouldn't complain too much..
Also copied EA4ADJ (IM88) and EB1DJ (IN52) - both would also have been new if I could have completed a QSO but the Es wasnt long enough this time.

Very long lasting opening with my landing point in the mediteran, sea, 7X, 3V.

Was nice to see suddenly EA showing up when monitoring FT8. I have seen a lot of station incl CT and EA6. Unfortunately I called EA6VQ at least 4 times, he answered, but no complete QSO.

FT8 was nice to see Es coming up, SSB was nicer, certainly with the 9700 with the spectrum display, Easy to QSY to the QRG's on which people cq'ed. At least found 4 stations that way.

Nice surprise for end of August

I heard more EA stns on FT8, several on SSB, but freq 174 is much better than 300 - without CQ Sporadic QRM from local stns, and I don't have to cycle with the tuning knob around the band ... This was a perfect opening, but some EA stations did not follow the correct sequence (1st to N/NE).

Seen in FT8 or NC FT8 : EA5GJ, EC7ZR, EA4ADJ, EA4TD, EA7ITL, CT2FYQ, EB1DJ.
At least a few SSB QSO's ! Patchy opening, signals not stable. It started with SV2 earlier in the morning and slowly turned clockwise. Here I heard the 1st signals when the Es allwed QSO's with EA5, Nil before.

Driving back from QRL by car i remembered a warning for SpE earlier this day. Always nice to listen tto the FM band for some DX. And es, there were some stations hearable with Arabic music and presentation. Chaine 1 from Argeria was the best receivable very strong signal with RDS(!)

At home the cloud was moved so it was possible to work some EA. It is a pitty that the FT8 amateurs on 20M don't have or use equipment on 2M :-(

Cheers,
Dustin

What an amazing opening, many thanks to all French friends. One of the best during this year so late in August! Speziall thanks go to G4FUF Keith who reported strong 3m BC Stations from IT9 on the chat KST. I checked the airport beacons VOR around 115 Mhz and found strong signals from central France when shortly afterwards 2m opened with good signals. All qso-s in SSB except on in CW! Nice!
