2nd Opening 2010 at JO31NF!
Very strange opening - looked first it was more than MS to the SM/SK Stations! Than it opened towards UA3 - again much QRM around 300 and Stations did not really spread out...
Good conditions on 70MHz and I find this makes a useful indicator for 144MHz. The 70MHz band was open to OZ with LOUD signals and then some signals from SM7GVF on 144MHz band - some sort of Iono/Es. Then on 70MHz to 9A, S5, OM, OK and then open on 144MHz to OM / OK.
Of course 70MHz is not active all over Europe but I can tell from signals strengths that something is going to happen and where from . This is how it has been for all the Sp-E here this season so far.
See you all in the next one! 73 David G4ASR
Still no shack here due to major building work so I set up a small portable station in the conservatory. No new grids worked, but it was great fun making contact with stations previously worked via Tropo/MS. The 1st E's event this year from my QTH. GL to all. 73, David

Good Opening - Pity Everyone on 144300 Would be helfull to spread out hi !
Thanks to all hope it happens again hi !! 73 Richard G4HGI
Another good day on 144Mhz...missed SM7/G4PBP in the first session (Sri Russ ) and also heard but missed SM5KQM...
Worked everything I heard in the second session with the exception of YL3GDF.
KO37 and KO47 were both new squares for me,so pretty happy.
I couldnt hear any of the UA3s that were being worked some time, after the event closed here
Both events very patchy here and signals were low so I was on the back of all the pileups. Heard 4 new squares but no contacts in the UA opening. Highlight was hearing RA6HHT (3243km) for 1 over, I was not prepared for that! Roll on the next one where I am not on the edge of it :)

Even for a long time MUF to be >150MHz, Es propagation in South/North direction was poor - just few contacts was made from YO3 and LZ. At same time, it was a day showing how it is possible to occure Es and FAI at same time from the same scatter point (!?) depends on the angle of usage - UR,UA6 to OZ,SM as ESporadic and 9A,S5,YU to UA3,UA4 as FAI. Was it FAI at all, or just a Es from angle different from 180 degrees ? Does someone observe FAI over KO02 sometimes ?
