A new ES day has started. In the morning 50 MHz was open to many places. Around 09.15 the MUF rised very fast over the Adriatic sea. I1JTQ and TA3BC, followed by LZ3GM and TK5JJ were the first to QSO each other at 09.18. After about one hour the signals faded away. In the afternoon it was the KO22/KO23 area that provided some nice ES between DL/PA into UA3 and OH into YO and LZ. The MUF rised to 161.9 MHz. Activity was spread quite well in SSB. FM proved to be a good mode to catch squares in Russia. Unfortunatly most activity was on 145.500 only so this frequency was very crowded. The fifth day in a row with ES...after a slow start it's going to look that the long term predictions from LZ1AG and CT1HZE are confirmed and we are going to expect 30 days with ES this year?
Very spotty Opening here, UA3WM was the only Station i heard and only via Es with Tropo mixed. OIRT Band was crowded with Radio-Stations during the opening, most with fluttery signals.

I was late for the event, but I copied a number of stations at the end of the opening. Here signals came up and disappeared again within seconds. No QSO was made.

First Es this year. Very short opening here, hrd only this station and for 2 min. - I seem to be in the very SW of the range.
Small 4 minutes opening early afternoon and a nice surprise to UA3 in the late afternoon then! Quite good spreading on SSB but FM was frantic with everybody on 145.500 and no one on the other "channels". Anybody know the locator of RZ3QH? Suppose KO91 ...
My first ES in 2008, very short, very selectiv. The signals came up for a few seconds and disappear quite fast. I heard only stations from Moscow area KO85, KO95. I guess I was at the edge of the ES propagation area.
First ES this year at JO48 and very short, only abt. 5 min.

Same time there was an opening to OH for people north of me. Heard F6DRO with antenna pointed to North....Sorry didn't copy any OH - too much squares I need from Finland. 73's de George
I arrived at home at 17utc and when I started radio I was so suprised by nice Es to UA3. I'm not sure of FM QSO with UA9UNA because of deep QSB but callsign is on 100% ok. Any idea about the locator? Some LO16 maybe?

At the begining of ES strong sigs were on the band. RK3AF was 59+ for amount of minutes. I also heard RA3WND/3, RA3AET and UA4UK from LO14MA, but no chance to brake DL wall. I was hearing UA4UK for 10 minutes 559-579.

Hello All,
The first ES qso's of this year are made here and the sigs were
loud but in and out. Just at the edge I think.
Heard was 18:59 UA3WM in KO72qi but could not get through the pile up.
Hope to meet you in the next opening

Es nr. 3/2008 from Ankara. Today 3 very short opening here, not strong and stationary signal like yestarday. One good news - second station QRV in Es from Ankara! Aladain, TB2NIM from KM69HX have 40W out and ANT Diamond 300 - look for him next Es...
