Meteor Scatter: June 2012
June is known for the return of three remarkable daytime showers. Major showers Arietids (peaking June 7th) and ζ-Perseids, peaking June 9th, are both characterized by a broad maximum (with possible submaxima) and high ZHR value, thus making first half of June one of the best periods of the year for MS-Dxing.
Even β-Taurids, peaking June 28, is characterized by fairly good ZHR.
Have a look to shower predictions for June 2012, featuring also a short overview of 2012 η-Aquariids, at our
MS-Propagationpage.

The X-flares, and accompanying CMEs, did not produce significant Aurorae last week. The "small" M9 flare of March 13 did a better job! The Bz went quickly to the south for several hours after arrival of the CME at 13.10z, and produced a fine Aurora. ... more...
